I had my container stored for months in MA and I felt the storage fees were reasonable. While there is an option to access your container in the storage facility, I did not use it. However, it's a nice option to have! You just need to organize that with the customer service team ahead of time. Having the moving blankets included was also extremely helpful - they can cost up to $19 a piece if bought separately. The blankets are new, btw. They've come in handy post-move with painting and renovations.
They sent two drives to pick up the container, the drive that took the container never submitted the paperwork to the central office so a month later i was still being charged, took over a week to get them to send in the paper work and get credit back. Also had container for only 6 days of 3rd month but was charged for a full month because they dont prorate chrages. They will take your money but will fight tooth and nail to not give it back.
When it was time to have my container dropped off at my new location, the customer service team went out their way to make sure it was a smooth for me as possible. The scheduling for the pick up of the empty container was a little frazzled, but since it was an empty container and not blocking any of my neighbors, it was a very minor issue.
Moving is a hot mess for most people. Doesn't matter if it's across town or half way around the world - it's stressful! I used 1-800 Pack Rat for a move from CA to MA and am glad I did since it made it made the move much less stressful than it could have been. Even though I changed my empty container drop off date a few times, they were accommodating and professional about it. I received follow up emails and phone calls from the HQ in North Carolina with each change, which let me know that they were on top of it with all the changes I was making. It's especially nice to have the same coordinator through the whole process and to ask questions.
Very nice staff, helpfull and accomadating.
I would use them again if needed for either another move or to just house household items during a renovation.
